MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE
LIFE OF A CHILD. . .

BECOME A CASA ADVOCATE VOLUNTEER
(Court Appointed Special Advocate)

Training classes begin Oct. 3, 2016

In Washington County, PA there are children in the foster care system who are in need of caring adults to be their advocates.

If you are interested in making a difference in the life of a child, please consider becoming a CASA Advocate Volunteer.

As a CASA Advocate Volunteer,  you will be trained to fulfill this important role and then assigned one case which involves one family. You will work as a fact-finder by developing a relationship with the child, their family and others who touch their lives. You will write reports for the judge prior to a hearing, working as that extra set of "eyes and ears" to provide the judge with as much information as possible prior to the judge rendering a decision.

CASA FOR KIDS
WINNER OF THE  2015
DIRECTOR’S CHOICE AWARD
On May 14, 2015, CASA for Kids, Inc. of Washington County, PA  was presented as the winner of the 2015 Director’s Choice Award through the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF).

The Director’s Choice Award is a $10,000 operational grant from the WCCF Acorn Fund. This award was created to “honor the Foundation's earliest donors who were willing to invest in the Community Foundation when it was a great idea waiting to happen.”

The mission of WCCF is to improve the quality of life primarily in Washington County by providing a vehicle for philanthropic giving across a broad spectrum of giving levels to support diverse community needs and provide prudent stewardship of those charitable funds.

The Community Foundation cited CASA’s careful management of financial resources and the quality of the CASA program noting that CASA volunteers donated over 8,700 hours to their CASA cases in 2014.
